Coach “Cy” has approximately 45 years of coaching experience and is known nationwide for his technical expertise and team development.  He is Level 5 American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) certified.  In 1998, he was recognized in Swimming World as one of the top 100 active USS coaches. Coach Cy’s Open Water experience includes winning a Team National Championship in 1999 which led to his becoming a coach member of the 2000 USS Pan Pac Team which competed in Australia.  Also among Cy’s honors are:  USS Swimming National Outreach Select Camp Staff, six-time Kentucky High School Coach of the Year, and USA Regional Swimming Coach of the Year (Tennessee and Kentucky).  His swimmers have broken national, regional, state and local swim committee records.   Cy has taught all levels of ability from the Olympian to the beginner. His philosophy is that one must teach sound fundamentals before the coaching can really begin.  It is the one factor that has allowed so many of his former swimmers to progress in swimming and to be so successful in age group, high school, college, and beyond!
