Chris Fay entered the sport of swimming at age 4 as a member of the Franklin Farm Froggers, and hasn't left since. He swam with the Froggers in the Colonial League until the age of 18, setting multiple team records, and even a league record. As a member of Potomac Valley Swimming, Chris competed for the Herndon Commanders, where he qualified for multiple zone meets, sectionals, and super sectionals. While attending Chantilly High School, Chris helped set team records, obtain Honorable Mention All-American, and place top 10 at the Virginia State Championship. His senior year Chris led the team as captain and was honored as team MVP for the season. In his freshman year of college Chris helped a freshman heavy Marist College swim team to an unexpected MAAC Championship. Chris scored points in every event he competed in, including Marist's lone relay win in the 200 freestyle relay, which consisted of three freshman,

Chris sent 3 years as an assistant coach for the Froggers, before taking his first head coaching job with the Barrington Blue Fins. The Blue Fins, also a member of the Colonial League, improved tremendously under Coach Chris. After taking a two-year hiatus from the sport of swimming, Chris joined the Fox Mill Estates Foxes as Head Coach in the summer of 2011. He is currently coaching a newly revived winter program for the Foxes and will return as Head Coach in the summer of 2012.

A self-proclaimed "swim nerd", Chris lists a few of his interests as looking at local meet results from PVS, high schools, and colleges nationwide, checking the collegeswimming.com message boards, and reading Splash magazine. A member of a swim family, Chris' brother Stephen swims at William & Mary, and his aunt is associate head coach for Long Island Aquatic Club in New York.
