The Potomac Marlins have assembled a highly talented and experienced coaching staff in order to provide our swimmers with the highest level of coaching possible. Each of the Potomac Marlin coaches is a certified US Swimming Coach and have many years of experience as swimmers and coaches. In addition to their direct swimming related skills, our coaches are well educated in many other areas and have varied personal interests that give added depth to their teaching capabilities. We believe that swimming coaches must possess multiple levels of personal experience as swimmers as well as excellent teaching and communication skills. The primary directive for all Potomac Marlins coaches is to educate, motivate, and inspire each swimmer within their practice groups towards personal improvement. The Potomac Marlins coaching staff functions as one unit dedicated to the improvement of all Potomac Marlin swimmers sharing in the responsibility and in the combined effort for the success of the team.
In addition, most Marlins coaches have been swimmers themselves through age group, high school, college, and masters programs. We believe first hand knowledge is an essential component in the success of our TEAM and important to our swimmers who are looking for encouragement and direction. Our coaches are certified US Swimming instructors and hold or are pursuing current certifications with the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA).
