Chrissy began swimming competitively at the age of 7 for the Dunn Loring Dolphins in the NVSL. She quickly fell in love with the water and the sport. At 9, she began swimming with the Potomac Marlins and continued as a Marlin until moving to Stafford in middle school. Her swimming career continued with summer league and USS teams local to the Stafford area. In high school she swam all 4 years at North Stafford and began to specialize in sprint freestyle events, specifically the 50 and 100. She qualified for states in 2000 and 2002. She served as captain and earned the award for MVP her senior year in 2002.

From 2001-2005 Chrissy coached with the Hampton Oaks Hurricanes in Stafford. She enjoyed sharing her passion for swimming and helping the swimmers develop their stroke skills. She also worked as a private swimming instructor during this time and has found time to continue working with individual swimmers since.

During her time at James Madison University, Chrissy competed with the club swim team. She loved traveling with the team and being part of this swimming family. She continued to compete with the JMU club team during her graduate year, where she earned a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education.

Since 2007, Chrissy has worked as a Fairfax County teacher. Her first year she worked as a preschool special education teacher in Alexandria and since has worked as a preschool autism teacher in Centreville.
