2010 Halloween MINI MEET
25 Potomac Marlins Mini Team swimmers competed in the 2010-11 season's first Mini Meet on October 23 & 24 at the Madeira School in Great Falls, VA with an awesome 77% best time team performance?
Leading the way with 5 personal best times was Dylan Major with his top performance coming in the 25 Fly with nearly a 10 second time drop and a 3rd place finish. Great job Dylan! Five additional Marlins swimmers had 3 best times performances. Anthony Arcomona's 3 PRs (Personal Records) were topped by his best swim in the 50 Breast with a 5.71 second drop and an 4th place finish. Sydney Baxter's triple time drop was highlighted by 2 great swims in the 25 Fly and 50 Free each with nearly 3 seconds drop. Jeff Gerber's best of three PR swims was in the 50 Fly with a 7.99 second time drop and a 2nd place finish. Vivek Iyer's three impressive swims came inthe 50 Back, 25 Back and an outstanding 9.29 second drop in the 50 Free. Caroline Weeren rounded out the list of swimmers who dropped time in 3 or more events for the meet. Caroline had perhaps the most impressive overall time drop meet from the entire squad. Caroline dropped a total of over 20 seconds in her three events for the meet, 50 Breast, 25 Fly and 50 Back. GREAT JOB everyone!
Several other swimmers had some impressive individual event improvements as well. Melinda Chrestman dropped 8.25 seconds in the 25 Free, Gavin Flanagan dropped 8.59 seconds in the 50 Back, Hannah Foley dropped 6.03 seconds in the 25 Back, Chase Gurey dropped 9.58 seconds in the 50 Free, Joshua Liu dropped 6.02 seconds in the 50 Free and Victoria Mitchell dropped 6.99 seconds in the 25 Free. AWESOME SWIMS !
Keep up the good work and keep those times dropping! Make sure to expand you event list each meet and continue to challenge yourselves with new and longer events when possible ( "SWIM OUTSIDE THE BOX" ).
