Halloween Mini Meet
33 Potomac Marlins swimmers attended the Halloween Mini Meet on October 22 & 23 at the Madeira School in Great Falls, VA. The team's performance resulted in 55% best times, however, 68 of the 104 swims were first time events. Considering "first time" events are also "best times" in our book....the best time ratio could actually be considered 85%!

Two swimmers topped the Marlins performance list. Ellie Williamson had a fantastic meet with 5 best times with over 42 seconds of total improvement for the meet. Ellie's most impressive swim was in her 100 I.M. with an amazing improvement of 22.59 seconds. Way to go Ellie! GREAT diversity of event selection! Max Dailey was close behind with 4 personal best times resulting from 4 equally great races. Max's total time drop was over 39 seconds with his most impressive swim coming in the 25 breaststroke. Way to MAX OUT! ( Let's see some butterfly next time!).
Gavin Flanagan had 3 best times and has also been focusing on event diversification with his best races coming in the 50 Breast, 50 Back and 100 Free. Gavin recorded a total time drop over the 2-day meet of 13.44 seconds improvement. Nice job Gavin! Other impressive personal best swims over the course of the weekend included; Ashlynn Deiderich's 9.16 second drop in the 50 Free and her 4.61 second drop in the 50 Back, Madison Dill's 5.55 second drop in the 100 I.M., and Reagan Foley's 58.42 second drop in the 50 Fly (WOW!, looks like someone figured out the timing and rhythm to the stroke?). GREAT MEET everyone. Keep up the good work. Great job to all swimmers who competed in their first meet as a Potomac Marlin. We are all looking forward to seeing you up on the blocks again soon.
