2011-12 Registration & Payment Information
- Team Registrations are done on-line through an outside registration service (Active Network). See REGISTRATION FORM button at the top of the Registration HUB page. Questions about the Marlins registration procedures should be referred to the Team Registrar, Barry Marlin.

Upon registration, a non-refundable $300 deposit is required to reserve each members space on the team. This $300 registration deposit must be made by credit card through the provided card processing service on the THRIVA site. Contact the Team Registrar with questions. Initial registration deposit covers USA/PV Swimming insurance and league registration dues, initial Meet Entry Fee (MEF) account set-up , and team outfitting package.
- New Members transferring to the Marlins 2011-12 season program from another USA team are permitted to swim the current summer session #2 without charge once their 2011-12 registration has been processed and $300 registration deposit received.

TEAM FEE BALANCES may be made with a credit card or by check (preferred) and must be received any time between the beginning date of registration and the team's September 30th due date. 2011-12 Team Fee CREDIT CARD balances can be made through the THRIVA registration form at check-out or, if you preferr, PayPal linked on the MARLINS Registration HUB page. IN order to pay Standard or Extended plan BALANCES you must log into YOUR ACCOUNT using the link on the Reg HUB Page. (Do not attempt to re-enter the Registration Form)

OUTFITTING PACKAGE: All Potomac Marlins swimmers (except Stroke School participants) will receive a standard outfitting package as part of their registration fee each season. See OUTFITTING on the Reg. HUB Page for more info.PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONSOption #1Earlybird
$300 credit card deposit with registration.
Balance must be made in full made by CHECK ONLY and postmarked on or before June 18th, 2011 to be eligble for the Early Bird credit. 5% E.B. Credit will be transferred to family Meet Entry Fee (MEF) accounts.
Option #2Standard$300 credit card deposit with registration.
Balance in full made by check (preferred) or credit card by September 30th, 2011.
Multiple payments may be made as long as full balance is paid in full by Sept 30th.
Option #3Extended$300 credit card deposit with registration.
5% service charge is added to Team Fee total.
Not available to swimmers who register after October 30th, 2011. This is an automated withdraw system to take place on Sept. 30, Nov. 30, and Jan. 30, 2012. The automated withdraw is done through the THRIVA system. (PayPal should not be used for the extended payment option). A courtesy reminder note will be sent prior to the automatic withdrawl operation.
Scheduled payments can be paid off prior to the automatic withdraw dates. Contact Team Registrar with questions.
45% of balance automatically withdrawn on September 30th.
30% of balance automatically withdrawn on November 30th, 2010.
25% balance automatically witdrawn on January 30th, 2011.

SIBLING DISCOUNT: The Marlins offer team fee discounts for families with 2 or more swimmers. For Sibling Discount information please see SIBLING DISCOUNTS.

EARLY BIRD CREDIT: The Marlins offer an EARLYBIRD CREDIT which is offered in the form of a credit towards a families MEF account. In order to qualify for the Earlybird Credit, swimmers must register on-line and make their $300 credit card deposit and submit the balance payment in FULL (by CHECK only) by the Earlybird postmark deadline (June 18th, 2011). Payments received with postmarks after the deadline will not be credited.

PRO_RATED FEES: For swimmers who register late (after Sept 30th) the Marlins offer PRO-RATED FEES which are calculated monthly based upon a 9 or 11-month season. We accept late registrations all season long provided spaces are available. Team outfitting packages, MEF accounts and USA/PVS registrations are included with all late entry pro-rated fees.
Note: The on-line registration form is not capable of calculating pro-rated balances due. Swimmers registering after October 1st, 2011 must contact the Registrar directly so that the team fee pro-rate total can be adjusted internally.
- ACTIVE MILITARY DISCOUNT (AMD): A 10% discount off of the team fee will be offered to all Active Military families. The on-line system is not able to calulate this discount automatically. The discount will be applied internally by the Team Registrar and will show on the balance due. The AMD can not be combined with Early Bird discount but the Sibling discounts will still be applied in addition to the AMD. Registrants must check the Active Military Box on the registration form. Discount does not apply to the Outfitting package, MEF or PVS/USA swimming insurance portion of the team fee. ($300)

LATE REGISTRATIONS: Swimmers who register AFTER Sept. 30th are required to make their balance payments within 30 days of registering or allow the automated credit card processing system to withdraw the required balance on the 30th day of the month following their registration date. Late registrants are eligible for the Extendend payment plan and associated dates if registering by the end of October, 2011. Please conta the Registrar to help set this up.

SUMMER PROGRAM FEES are included with 11-month registrations at a 50% discount for Junior Marlins and higher level programs. Swimmers who register for summer programs in May may begin praticing with the current Short Course program during the month of May at no extra charge.

MEET ENTRY FEE Account (MEF): Each Marlins swimmer is credited with a $50 Meet Entry Fee escrow account at the beginning of each season for the purpose of entering swim meets. MEF accounts are part of the standard team fee for all swimmers and are non-refundable if unused. However, MEF funds accumulate and remain in the swimmer's name for the duration of their association with the team. MEF accounts are attributed to the FAMILY and thus are transferable among siblings. MEF accounts must be kept in the "positive" at all times and sufficient funds must be available in order to enter any meet. ALL TEAM FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE MADE. Refunds are only processed in the event that Potomac Marlins cancel an advertised program or a swimmer is deemed by the staff to be unable to meet the minimum standard of acceptance for the intended prorgam AND the appropriate level program schedule is not feasible. Contact the Team Manager for more info. The Potomac Marlins program is a 9-month or 11-month financial commitment regardless of whether the swimmer completes the season for which he/she has registered.
Note: ACTIVE Miltary Duty Transfers resulting in swimmer relocation ARE reimbursed from the date the team is notified via copy of the transfer order.
