ALL SWIMMERS/PARENTS should first check the PROGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS / BASE ABILITY LEVEL chart prior to attending Tryout Events or Practices. This chart was developed to help NEW MEMBERS make accurate placement choices prior to registering.

Placement Tryouts are meant to augment and support the information contained on the chart. Placement tryouts are NOT necessary if swimmers/parents are able to determine appropriate programs through use of the Program Recommendations chart.

Swimmers are required to wear racing suit and goggles for tryout (no shorts, jammers, or cut-offs). Drop-in tryouts last approx. 10 minutes. When attending any of the Tryouts, please inform the front desk that you are with the Potomac Marlins Swim team and attending your first tryout practice. Please arrive at the appropriate advertised START TIME for tryouts.

Tryouts after August 31st must be accomplished during one of the Marlins scheduled practices after September 12th (if necessary).
