The Potomac Marlins believe that keeping and publishing team records contributes to the overall success of the TEAM by focusing each swimmers individual goals on continued improvement. Establishing and maintaining team records is also a great way to promote excellence and high standards within the membership of the team. All Potomac Marlin swimmers should establish personal goals which move them towards the team record standard. RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN. Swimmers will receive record breaker patches upon setting team records.
The Potomac Marlins maintain short Course and Long Course Records for all events in each age group including relays. These records are published along with each newsletter at the beginning of the short course season and in the Awards Banquet Programa at the end of the short course season. Team records will also be updated published monthy with each newsletter if any records have been broken during the previous month. Long Course records will be published at the beginning of each summer Long Course season and distributed in the Long Course mailbox system.
