The Potomac Marlins USA Swim Team is proud to announce the introduction of the MARLIN USA MASTERS
program at the newly constructed Cub Run Recreation Center in Chantilly Virginia.
The MARLIN USA MASTERS program is designed for swimmers of all ability levels ages 19 & older (X-High School, College/X-College,
Tri-Athletes, Masters Competitive swimmers, and Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner General Conditioning swimmers).
The program offers flexible training options of 1 to 6 X per week with a choice of days on a first come basis until practice sessions
become full. Each practice will have the flexibility to arrange lanes based upon the ability levels of the swimmers present.
The MAXIMUM number of swimmers per lane will be 6.
The MARLINS USA MASTERS program will run adjacent to the
Potomac Marlins USA Age Group/SENIOR program and will be coached daily by one of the Potomac Marlins ASCA
(American Swim Coaches Association) certified coaches.
3 (maybe 4) seasonal training sessions
are offered throughout the year and are associated with the standard training breaks scheduled for the Potomac Marlins USA
Age Group program.
SESSION #1 FALL - September 12 through December 15th (14 Weeks)
SESSION #2 WINTER - January 2 through March 31 (13 Weeks)
SESSION #3 SPRING - April 17 through May 26 (6 Weeks)
SESSION #4 SUMMER - May 30 through August 4 (10 Weeks).
Session #4 is unconfirmed at this time. FCPA approval is pending. # of days per week maybe limited/reduced,
no Saturdays.
Registrations will be accepted throughout the year provided spaces are available. Registered MARLIN USA MASTERS will receive a
PRACTICE PASS for 25 practices which will be "punched" by the deck coach at each practice. Once the pass has been completely used,
registered swimmers must purchase a new pass in order to continue with the program. New passes can be ordered at any point in the
season by sending a $200 check to the Potomac Marlins mailing address @ 5209 South 12th Street Arlington VA 22204.
A one time per year registration fee of $32 is required to register with US Masters Swimmming. This registration fee includes registration /
insurance through USA Master Swimming, which also provides eligibility status for all MARLIN USA MASTERS to compete in sanctioned USA
Masters Swim Meets during the season. Proof of current USA Masters registration is required in liue of the USA Masters registration fee.
Masters swimmers may also join USA Swimming to be eligible to swim in any Open USA swim meet.
The fee for joining USA Swimming for 2007-2008 is an additional $69. Contact coach Bill Marlin if you wish to do this.
MORE THAN ONE PASS MAY BE PURCHASED AT A TIME.
Swimmers must indicate intended practice days during the week for scheduling purposes due to limited lane space.
Limited flexibility will be available for make-up practices during the week on a case by case basis. The chart below will reflect
availability status of the program throughout the season as specific days will be marked as FULL once they reach capacity.
The Potomac Marlins reserve the right to cancel any specific day of the week from the offered schedule in the event that a minimum
number of participant is not reached or maintained.
07-08 Season (September through May) passes may only be used during the season for which they are intended.
Un-used "punches" at the end of the season may not be transfered to the 08-09 season or refunded in remaining value.
MARLIN USA MASTERS swimmers must re-register every August for the upcoming season by submitting a new registration form and yearly
USA Masters registration fee.
