The Potomac Marlins yearly Team Fee includes a Speedo Team Outfitting Package for each registered swimmer. Two team T-shirts, a team suit,  and team swim cap are provided each season. Several additional special outfitting items will be included with the outfitting packages in three year cycles. These items will be determined each season and noted when the information becomes available. These special additional items will be determined by the Head Coaches and the Team's Outfitting Coordinator in conjunction with Sport Fair and Speedo's seasonal supply.

As a Speedo contracted team, we are required to have all of our swimmers wear Speedo suits when they are representing the Potomac Marlins at swim meets.  This includes all open meets, travel meets and championship meets. Special (non-Speedo) suits may be used for Championship meets with the approval of the swimers primary deck coach.

Note: Accurate sizing information is required upon registration. Please make sure to double check sizes before completing the registration process. Clothing items come in both Youth and Adult sizes. See also the Speedo suit sizing chart and the Speedo Warm Up Sizing Chart or contact Sport Fair with sizing questions. All exchanges must be made at the Sport Fair store if not accomplished at the Sport Fair outfitting day in September. Accuracy with the initial order will greatly expedite the process. SPEEDO products (suits and warm-ups) can be fitted at any local SPEEDO dealer.

OUTFITTING DELIVERY: All swimmers who register prior to August 20th each season, will be guaranteed to receive their outfitting packages at the annual Sport Fair outfitting day in mid-September. Swimmers who register after this date will have their packages ready for delivery to the practice facilities in 2-week intervals following the Sport Fair Outfitting Day. Swimmers who register after September 20th, will have their packages delivered to the pools or shipped to their home addresses within two weeks of their registration date. To assure outfitting packages are ready for the first swim meet, we strongly encourage all swimmers to register prior to August 1st.

TEAM OUTFITTING POLICY: Only Potomac Marlins outfitting and equipment and outfitting should be worn on deck during all practices and USA swim meets.   This means if a swimmer wears a cap, he/she must wear a Marlins team cap, not a summer team cap, High School team cap or generic cap.  Having a spare cap or two in your PURPLE backpack is recommended in case one rips.  Caps can be purchased at Sport Fair 703-524-9500.  Some deck coaches also have caps available for direct purchase.

Marlins team suits are preferred for practices, but any generic suit (preferably SPEEDO) is acceptable.  We recommend that previous year’s team suits are used for practice and current year’s team suits are saved for meets.   Marlins team suits are absolutely REQUIRED for all USA meets in which Marlins swimmers are participating.

Only PURPLE Marlins logoed backpacks are permitted on deck for practice and meets.  All team items should be labeled and kept in the backpacks at all times when on deck.  We recommend that PURPLE backpacks are brought on deck each night for practice rather than being kept in locker rooms.  The only exception to this is for Sectional or Junior/Senior National qualifiers who may have been given special unique backpacks for these meets.

Only Potomac Marlins T-shirts, sweats and shorts are permitted at USA swim meets.  High School, summer team and generic shirts should not be worn to meets.  All swimmers are fully outfitted with these items at the beginning of each season.

Marlins deck coaches are authorized to have swimmers  remove non-team caps and back-packs from the pool/deck area. PLEASE help us in this team wide effort to help our team look like a well organized and coached unit by supporting the Potomac Marlins team outfitting policies and procedures.  LOOK LIKE A TEAM, ACT LIKE A TEAM, PERFORM LIKE A TEAM and SUCCEED LIKE A TEAM!

• Team Towel with swimmer name woven into design - swimmer can chose whole name, partial name, or nick name.  NOTE:  Team towels are not ordered until mid October each year and are not delivered until early December due to the ordering and production procedures.  Towels are delivered directly to the pools for deck coaches to distribute.

Swimmers in their fourth year or longer will receive the Standard yearly package (TEAM SUIT & 2 TEAM T-SHIRTS) as part of their standard team fee.  In addition, 4+ year swimmers will receive an $80 Sport Fair Coupon within their package which can be used at the outfitting day event or at the Sport Fair store in Arlington.  The coupon MUST be redeemed by mid-December of the same year. (see date on coupon).

Other items not included in our outfitting packages incude:  silicon & latex caps, rubber fins, kick board, pull buoy, mesh equipment bag, hand paddles, goggles, in-line snorkels, team parkas, and many more.  Some additional items may be required for practieces.  Please consult YOUR SWIMMER'S Potomac Marlins primary deck coach(es) prior to purchasing additional items. All additional items are available at the team's annual OUTFITTING DAY & NEW PARENT MEETING event in mid-September.
